Avery is three weeks old today and it's our anniversary, so to celebrate, we went for her first official Well-Baby Check-Up. Last time we went, we were considered "sick" because she was having to have her bilirubin checked. This was also my first time to do something of this magnitude alone...just me and Avery. I was actually very nervous, but not about the doctor's appointment, about getting her ready, packing her up, getting myself ready, getting through traffic, going to the doctor, and getting home all by myself. We did it!! Ok, here's her stats....
She was discharged from the hospital 2.5 weeks ago with a height of 18 5/8 inches and weight of 5 pounds 2 ounces. Just 2.5 weeks later she has grown to 20 inches (gaining 1 3/8 inches) and 6 pounds 8 ounces (gaining 1 pound 6 ounces)!! Woo hoo!! He checked her out and said she looked perfect. We go back again at 2 months to start shots. Oh, and he did say that the little place on her back was a hemangioma of infancy (a benign tumor) and that it might grow and become raised but would go away in a couple of years at the latest. But, other than that---a perfect bill of health! Thank God; what a blessing!
Here are some pictures of her in her carseat on the way to the doctor.
This is what she does with her paci...she just likes to know that it's there. Sometimes she sucks it like she's supposed to, but most of the time, she just likes it to be touching her mouth.
