Play Time

Avery is doing very good with her independent play time. She really only needs us for changing, feeding, and bathing. She is starting to sit up on her own now. I haven't taken a picture of it yet because I'm afraid to get too far away in case she topples over. Today she sat in the floor and watched Word World (show on NPT) for 10 minutes before getting distracted by something outside and toppling over. She's getting good at catching herself if she starts to fall. But, like most things, she has to want to be sitting for this to work. I feel like after another week of "practicing" sitting Avery will be very good at it. We'll see...

Here she is in the Exersaucer today:
(she is wearing a turtleneck, but you cannot tell...the neck part is lost underneath that 90th percentile head!)

Learning which toys she can pull on and eat....and which ones taste the best

so artsy...
I put socks on her for the first time since she was a newborn. Socks are going to be very hard to keep up with. She immediately wanted to eat her feet but then decided it was more fun to try and pull off the socks.

All in all, Avery is growing so much! We are currently in another growth spurt as evidenced by lots of eating and sleeping. The little romper and turtleneck that she's wearing are 6/9 month. Looks like she's finally caught up to wearing the correct sized clothing for her age. We weighed her last weekend, and it said that she now weighs approximately 14 pounds 5 ounces, which according to the growth charts is in the 50th percentile!! (You may remember that she was 25th and 30th percentiles at her doctors' visits)
