Big Day

When you're so small and are just starting out on this adventure of "life," you have many big days. Today was another big day for Avery. We started the day out by wearing a bow for the first time (see pictures below). She did not go out in public with this bow, but I was curious as to how it would look. Then, she astounded both Matt and me by increasing the amount of food she takes in at each feeding. She's up to 4 ounces now! I'm not sure how much is normal at this age and for her size, but it seems like just yesterday we were leaving the hospital and she was taking half an ounce at each feeding. She is growing like a weed---according to the very accurate at-home weighing system, she now weighs 7 pounds 8 ounces---what a chunker! She is also staying awake much longer now. She will eat, stay awake for 1-2 hours and then go to sleep for about 2 hours. Such a big girl. She is just about to smile on purpose...I can feel it. When we tickle her, she gets this slightly confused look on her face like she knows she's supposed to have a reaction but she's just not sure what it is. It's pretty funny. She has also started laughing out loud during her sleep---it is the sweetest little sound. I love it. It was another big day today as it was her first trip to Backyard Burger, Dick's Sporting Goods, Hobby Lobby, and SnoBiz Shaved Ice. We were out and about the better part of the day, and she did amazing! We are both crossing our fingers that she will keep this up!

This is the face that she makes when you tickle her...kind of a smile?

For those of you who are wondering, she just got dressed, and that is why the harness is not on yet. We go back to the Orthopedic doctor on Friday of this week. Please pray for good news!
