11 Weeks Old

Avery turned 11 weeks old today. We weighed in last night, and according to our scales, she weighs 10 pounds 12 ounces which has more than doubled her discharge weight of 5 pounds 2 ounces (my doctor's office goes by discharge weight, not birth weight). I am pretty sure that this is early as most of the literature that I have says that babies should double their weight by the time that they are 6 months old. Needless to say, she is growing like a weed! She has really started smiling and has a pleasant little expression most of the time (instead of her concerned face that we were used to for the first part of her life). She has really started playing with her hands and enjoys entertaining herself. She loves kicking her legs. She has pretty strong little legs---she is able to move backwards when she's on her stomach or in a circle when she's on her back. She is such a little bundle of joy, and we are loving her more every day! Below are some pictures that I took of her this morning after we changed out of pjs but before we put our clothes on.
