Happy 4th of July!

We celebrated Avery's first major holiday today. It was a quiet holiday, and for that we are thankful. We went to one of the parks in town and celebrated with our church. We had dinner at the park with friends and family. It was very hot, although I don't think it was as hot as in years past. Avery did very well. She cried a little when she was so hot that she was sweating, but I wanted to cry, too. She was very festive in her little outfit. I had an outfit that I got before she was born, but since she was early, it is still too big. It will have to be her Labor Day outfit :) That being said, I realized last week that she needed something festive and patriotic. There was literally ONE patriotic clothing item left in Alabaster in her size, so that is what she got. I had no room to be picky :) We tried so hard to get her to hold an American flag, but the stick was rough wood, and I don't think that she liked that. Please insert an American flag in her right hand in the picture below...oh, and you can't tell, but she's singing the National Anthem.

Taking a nap on the ground. This worked out perfectly because she slept while the rest of us ate our dinners.
Our little family. Doing what we do best....sleeping and eating!

We hope everyone had a safe, fun, and memorable Independence Day!
