Christmas #4

Our fourth and final Christmas celebration was on Christmas Day at my grandparents' house. Avery got another favorite toy there...her baby doll. For the past couple months, as you can expect, we have been telling Avery about a baby sister that is going to come and play with her. When she opened the present and pulled out the doll, she began to exclaim, "Baby sister! Baby sister!" It was quite funny. Here she is showing my Mimi that the doll has eyes, a nose, a mouth, and hair just like her! At times she still calls this doll her baby sister, although we are trying to come up with a different name because Avery calling a doll her baby sister creeps me out just a bit.
Here she is giving the baby "pounds" or "booms." This is when two people punch fists together and then their hands blow up (open with spread fingers) and say "boom!"
And here she is being very sweet...giving the baby kisses and saying, "I love you!" For the most part she's very sweet with the baby doll....as long as you look away when she carries her by her hair or uses her to gain leverage or that extra height she needs to climb on things.
While we were opening presents on Christmas evening, it began to snow again. So, outside we went and took many pictures. Here she is with my brother, Houston. We've been trying to get her to say "Uncle Houston," but it comes out as "Cuwee." In fact, as I type this, she's sitting here
saying, "Cuwee...I see him!" Sadly, I think that this is one of our only family pictures from Christmas. It's amazing how pregnant women can avoid the camera!
We were all so excited to see the snow at Christmas! It may be a while before that happens again, so we tried to enjoy it as much as possible. Lately, down here in Alabama, there have been numerous snow-scares, but so far, no snow for us.
