34 1/2 Weeks....

We went to another doctor's appointment this morning. My blood pressure was up and the swelling is out of control! The doctor seems to think that it is Pregnancy Induced Hypertension and NOT preeclampsia, but just in case, I am performing a test all day long and will take my results in tomorrow where I will have some blood drawn. I start going every week now instead of every two weeks. She also said that she didn't think or expect me to make it to 39 weeks (our date that we were given at the last appointment). So, that means that our little May baby will probably be an April baby. Which, by the way, is fine with me---I am over being pregnant. It is pretty miserable now. Below are some pictures that we took today. We realized that we didn't really have any front pictures, only side pictures, so we took one of each. I really don't even recognize myself in these pictures---so strange!

Just an Update

Only 6 more weeks!! We went to the doctor again this past week. She has officially dropped in position (still transverse or sideways), and her heartrate has started to slow down (a normal finding in close-to-term babies). It was 148 this time instead of the high 150's like it has been. The books all say that she weighs close to 5 pounds and is 19 inches long---so crazy to think about that being inside of me!! We have put some finishing touches on her nursery, and I have put pictures of that below. I also went shopping this weekend and found a couple of cute things, which I have also put pictures of below.
This is her bookshelf and changing table area as you walk in her room.
This is above her crib.
This is a close up of her curtains---pink and brown paisley with pink and brown polka dot trim and brown sheers underneath.
Matt's newest favorite pair of bloomers.

This picture is for you, mom. This is the BRAND NEW, never worn Feltman's Brothers dress that I got at a consignment shop in Vestavia for $19.99. The original price tags and the tissue paper were still on/in the dress. It is pale pink with antique-looking lace trim. I love it.

32 Weeks and Counting

We have officially passed the 32-week point (another one of my self-proclaimed pregnancy milestones). Here is what 32 weeks and 30 pounds heavier looks like:

Fun with Onesies

Here are some more pictures of my onesie embellishments. It's a great way to spend some "extra" time (who has that these days anyway??)....and for all of you pessimists out there who are thinking that as soon as she spits up or has an eruption below that these onesies will be trashed, it's ok because they cost less than $2 to make (including the onesie), so I can actually afford to throw them out (unlike some of the clothes that have been purchased).

This one is almost too cute, even for me. But I love it. Little bow on her bottom...like I said, almost too cute. Below is a close-up of the bow.

Update

I was reminded that I had not posted anything in a while, including pictures. Sorry about that. There is not much going on (which is a good thing!). Here is an update on the pregnancy, though:

-last Sunday when we got home from church, my ankles and feet were extremely swollen---cankles, if you may. I slept all night Sunday night with my feet up on two pillows, and when I woke up Monday morning, they were still swollen. When I got to work on Monday, I had some of my nurse friends take my blood pressure, and it was pretty high, even for me. My highest reading at the doctor's office has been 110/60, and that day, it was 140/90. I sat down and took it easy for the rest of the day, and when we rechecked my pressure, it was 120/86. Since it started coming down, I did not call the doctor's office, and I will tell her when I am in there next week. The swelling has gone down quite a bit, but I am still suffering from slight cankles instead of severe cankles.

-we attended our weekend prenatal class last Saturday. It was eye-opening, but probably not in the way that you would guess. We have officially met the parents of Avery's potential classmates---wow. That's all that I have to say about that.

-I have been sewing recently. Pillows for the guest bed in Avery's room, valances, dresses, and embellishments for onesies. Just because she is tiny and has to wear onesies and pjs 90% of the time doesn't mean she can't be stinking cute doing it! I have attached a photo of one of the onesies that I just finished. And yes, there are machines that will do what I did by hand, but they are very expensive, and I am still in the process of talking my husband into letting me own one!

New Due Date ???

We went to the doctor today for another check-up. My rash is still here in full force, but so far the only bad thing to come of it is me being miserable and itching all the time. Avery's heart was strong and loud. Today we did a new thing at the doctor. Now that I'm 31 weeks, we can feel her and tell how she is laying. That part of the exam was not as good of news, but it is new nonetheless. From what we can tell, we are a combination between breech and transverse. Her head is at the upper right side of me, and her bottom is at the lower left side of me. The doctor said that there is still a little bit of time for her to flip, but most likely, this is the way she will stay for now. I asked about the labor plans (being the planner that I am), and she said that she would induce me at 39 weeks---if she is still in this position, she will obviously be a C-section. However, if this rash does not clear up or if it gets worse, we might go even sooner (after another round of steroids, of course, to ensure that her lungs are developed). So this little baby of mine that was supposed to come in May may make an appearance in April!! That is NEXT month! It is crazy how soon this could all be happening. For those interested in the positioning of Avery, I have posted some medical pictures showing her positioning.
Avery is the picture to the left---complete breech---mixed with a little of this picture below because she really is laying at a diagonal.

Winter Storm 2009 (Part Two)

As you can tell by these pictures, Maggie enjoyed playing in the snow much more than Jackson. Maggie takes after Matt, and Jackson takes after me. I like the snow (not enough to move anywhere though), but I like LOOKING at the snow. I am fine playing in it once, but more than that is too much work. Matt would stay outside all day long if he could. Jackson did not seem impressed while Maggie couldn't keep her face out of it...literally. Next year will be more fun when we actually have a CHILD to take pictures of in the snow, but for now, this is our life:

Jackson and Maggie on the deck, looking out over the back yard.

Maggie eating and playing with the snow.

Maggie with snow all over her face.

This was supposed to be a picture of Maggie trying to bite the flakes as they fell---so cute! She was so confused when she "missed" the snowflake and then would try to find it after it fell to the ground. Where did it go? Oh, and why do dogs have object permanence? They are too smart for their own good at times.

This is the birdhouse that I made at church camp two years ago. It has been outside and endured the elements quite nicely...including a blizzard (this is a blizzard to Birmingham---just watch the news!).

It's Snowing! (Part One)

Here is what we woke up to this morning outside of our window....
